With the annual Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival almost upon us, we round up our must-sees on the jam-packed VAMFF calendar.
What? An Evening With: Women in Media
When? Thursday 8 March, 5pm
There’s nothing more inspiring that hearing firsthand how some of the biggest names in Australian media got their start, navigated career progression and how they tackle the challenges and opportunities presented by the current climate. As part of International Women’s Day, Glynis Traill-Nash (Fashion Editor, The Australian) will host a panel of high profile speakers including Kellie Hush (Editor-in-Chief, Harper’s BAZAAR) and Alice Rice (Group Publisher, Allure Media/Who What Wear).
What? National Graduate Showcase
When? Friday 9 March, 7.30pm
Celebrate the next wave of emerging Australian fashion designers with a ticket to one of the most prestigious events on the roster. Watch as some of Australia’s brightest design graduates - handpicked from the likes of Whitehouse Institute of Design, RMIT and the University of Technology, Sydney - present their collections under the Royal Exhibition Building dome. Budding fashion designers, this is the one you don’t want to miss.
What? Fashion Talk 1: Monetising Your Social Platforms

Social media sisters Jess and Stef Dadon will share their insights and experiences in creating a personal brand and growing an audience to match. Whether you’re a looking to expand your own social media presence or simply a fan of How Two Live, this session promises to be inspiring.

Explore the mesmerising colour and movement of collections by Indigenous designers from outback Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific and the Rocky Mountains of Canada at the Global Indigenous Runway 2018. With high end fashion inspired by the environments, arts, culture and histories of Indigenous people, this event promises to be a night to remember.
