Cracking the Code: Women in Tech

Source: www.fya.org.au

As technology advances so do the opportunities.

But before we dive into it, have you ever noticed that a majority of IT position are held by men. Its just a factor that we accept but should no longer ignore.

But hang on a moment... have you ever stopped to consider, how heavily you engage in technology everyday? Technology is a major part of our everyday lives.

From your waking moment to when you drift off, we are so consumed by it (like you reading this article right now).

Women in technology are lacking. It's 2017 and the figures are pretty bleak.

In the recent David Technology report , statistics found only 31 per cent
of women hold position in the sector, making men outnumber women 2:1 and these numbers are consistent across all states.

So why is there such a gap in the industry?

Intimidating, masculine, and perhaps even an unglamorous industry, us females tend to shy away from the idea of being part of the tech world.

But what if I told you, it's actually so much more than that. As cliche as it may sound, the possibilities are endless.

So now, I'm here to convince you into pursing this route. We need more women in the indsurty, depserately.

Upon attending the annual Vogue Australia's VOGUE CDOES event, it became evident that the impact of the tech industry is so much more than just a smartphone in your pocket.

It's the breakthroughs that have allowed us to instantly communicate with one another.

It has changed lives with inventions from the bionic arm to enviromental friendly cars and even to the way we shop.

A vast spectrum of innovative possibilites indeed, so why not give it a shot?

You can thank me later.
