The Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival is an annual celebration of fashion, arts, ideas and creative endeavour for everyone to enjoy.
The Festival presents the country’s largest fashion event including world-class runway shows featuring Australia’s established and emerging designers, state-of-the-art production, retail events, industry seminars, forums, live entertainment and much more.
This application is to volunteer for senior roles as Head Ushers in Front of House (FOH) and Event Assistants at VAMFF's Runway shows and associated events. These are very exciting and important positions therefore eligible candidates will be contacted for a face to face or Skype interview. You will be required to be available for a minimum of 6 shifts over the course of the festival period 5th - 10th March.
You will be involved in and observe a lot of different aspects of the event, which may require long hours at times in a fast-paced environment. You will have the opportunity to gain hands on experience and learn from our very capable managers. We look forward to you joining the VAMFF team as an integral part of the festival.
We have the opportunity available for:
Attend induction, welcome patrons and audience members to all Runway shows, checking tickets, ticket scanning, audience communications and queue management. Directing flow of guests and audience to their allocated seats, assisting patrons with access needs - latecomers and seating queries, responsible for cleanliness of gift bag placement and clearing between shows.
Attend induction, assist with set up and daily preparation of event site and pack down, assisting with general event operations (guest experience, venue and ushering requirements), onsite support for Event Production team and event administration support when required.

Induction and Safety Briefing: Sunday 4 March (compulsory)
NOTE: The onsite induction and safety briefing is compulsory and any requirements for shifts prior to this date will be arranged with a separate induction.
