The Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival is an annual celebration of fashion, arts, ideas and creative endeavour for everyone to enjoy.
The Festival presents the country’s largest fashion event including world-class runway shows featuring Australia’s established and emerging designers, state-of-the-art production, retail events, industry seminars, forums, live entertainment and much more.
The Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival is your opportunity to gain valuable experience and work alongside some of the most talented and professional people in the Fashion and Event industry.
This application is to volunteer for Senior roles in Back of House (BOH) opportunities at VAMFF's Runway shows and associated events. These are very exciting and important positions and therefore eligible candidates will be contacted for a face to face or Skype interview. You will be required to be available for a minimum of 6 shifts over the course of the festival. You will receive invaluable experience and we look forward to you being an integral part of the Festival.
You will be involved in and observe a lot of different aspects of the event, which may require long hours at times in a fast-paced environment. You will be supported by and have the opportunity to learn from of our very capable managers and team leaders along the way.
We have various opportunities available:
Stylist/Head Dresser Assistant
Attend induction, prepare Designer collections under Stylist and Fashion Runway Production team instruction for fittings and Runways, prepare fittings paperwork, assist Stylists with Runway preparations, dress models during fittings and Runways (garment steaming, ironing and shoe taping).
Attend induction, assisting with the set-up of styling and fitting stations, organising and preparing the Designer collections and accessories for Runway shows, assisting the Collections Management Team in the Inventory checking of all Designer collections and accessories unpack, repack collections and prepare collections.
Location: Various locations in MelbourneDates: 1st - 18th March
Induction and Safety Briefing: Sunday 4th March (compulsory):
NOTE: The onsite induction and safety briefing is compulsory and any requirements for shifts prior to this date will be arranged with a separate induction.

As this is your opportunity to put a foot in the door and to gain some exciting and valuable experience in this industry. At the end of your volunteering experience you will receive a certificate of appreciation and a formal letter confirming your volunteering role and responsibilities.
